Meeting Information
Our monthly meetings occur on the 4th Thursday of each month, immediately following the daily Mass at 7:00pm in Holy Cross Collegiate.  All parishioners are welcome to attend.

The Parish Pastoral Council is entrusted, in collaboration with the Pastor, with the leadership role to reflect, pray, innovate, and engage the faithful of Sacred Heart Parish in the life of the local Church. Canon 536 §2 describes the function of the Parish Pastoral Council as a consultative body with norms established by the diocesan Bishop. 

The Parish Pastoral Council’s task is to bring together laypeople, clergy and religious who, together with the pastor, work collaboratively to support the life of the parish as a living faith community within the local and the diocesan church.

Pastoral Council members invite the parish community to engage with other parish communities, share in the concerns of the Church, and strive to bring the Gospel message to all people and places in Strathmore and area. In fulfilling its mission, the Council considers the needs of the parishioners at all stages of faith development, from initial evangelization, through discipleship formation, to apostleship and missionary discipleship.

• Assisting Pastor with various pastoral and liturgical needs.
• Ongoing parish strategic planning.
• Maintaining parish website and communications media.
• Maintaining, updating and expanding parish library.
• Encouraging parish faith formation and evangelization.
• Assisting in running key parish events such as the Easter Triduum, Christmastide Masses, May Crowning, Corpus Christi Procession and BBQ, Eucharistic Adoration, October Rosary Procession, etc.
• Assist with planning parish endeavours such as fundraising for our new church building, altar server training, starting a youth group, etc.
• Assist in planning and running parish missions.
